If you’re thinking about a renovation there are some key things you should consider. Many of these will seem obvious, but it is shocking how often they get overlooked. There was a time, not too long ago, when my family was on a strict diet of zero gluten, zero dairy, and very low sugar. There were certain health issues that made me consider these restrictions. After years of experimenting and seeing what works and what doesn’t seem to make a difference (for my family at least), I can say that a low dairy and relatively low sugar diet works well for us. By relatively low, I mean compared to the SAD (Standard American Diet). So, when I see a recipe that calls for 1 cup of sugar, I immediately half the amount. And you know what? It still tastes great. We don’t even notice that we’re compromising anymore. In fact, our sugar desensitization has left us cringing whenever we taste anything by ‘normal’ sugar standards. Read more
I have so much love for this country. Its beauty is just indescribable. Look at the quality of light, and imagine that reflecting around you everywhere, off everything.
My Mom and I went to Ireland after the renovation. It was amazing to spend some Mother-Daughter time together, and the perfect end to months of renovation stress. I had felt glued to my home with all the decisions that needed to be made on a daily basis, so when it was all over the idea of getting out of the house for a vacation was incredibly appealing. And Ireland no less!
